Sources report that the Ford Motor Company began negotiations to acquire the long abandoned and now mothballed Michigan Central Station from Morouns’ Crown Enterprises in March 2018. The deal could be finalized as soon as April.

Michael Samhat, president of Crown Enterprises, refuted the rumours, as did Ford Land Development, Ford Motor Company’s real estate company.

Ford officials, including Executive Chairman Bill Ford Jr., has said that attracting working talent to the company involves recruitment of a new generation of employees in urban areas — which involves developing office spaces closer to the city centre. Not long ago, Ford acquired The Factory and situated employees within whose focus is developing sound business strategies on selling electric and autonomou vehicles.
