The Cavanaugh Company, a hardware wholesale supply company that supplied cast iron pipe, corrugated pipe, road machinery, metallic paints, terra cotta, windows and fireproof doors, among many other items, was located in Youngstown, Ohio.

In January 2009, the city of Youngstown entered into an agreement with the Brownfield Restoration Group to study the subsurface conditions at Cavanaugh, which was the first step toward applying for Clean Ohio Funds to demolish the complex and remedy the site.1
