Razing Stearns & Foster
The last remnant of the historic Stearns & Foster Company in Lockland, Ohio came tumbling down today as the smokestack was toppled over.
The Cooperstown and Charlotte Valley Railroad
Coming fresh from a visit to Vermont, I ventured on the back roads around upstate New York. The country was far too beautiful to pass up with rolling, overcast skies for as far as the eye can see. Autumn colors were plentiful. Rounding the corner, I look over and out of the corner of my eye, I sighted derelict locomotives. I did a quick turnabout in the car and hurried back. This was too photogenic to pass up.
West Virginia Exposition Hall Destroyed
The Exposition Hall, originally part of the West Virginia Exposition & State Fair located in Wheeling, was destroyed by fire on January 1, 2020.
Springfield, Ohio’s Arcade
Noted as the second oldest arcade in the United States, Springfield, Ohio’s downtown Arcade was demolished in 1988. The Arcade was adjacent to the Esplanade, and was a leading example of Romanesque, Italianate and Monumental architecture. It was bounded by S. Fountain Ave., E. High Street, Washington Street and Primrose Alley.

Add Yours →This is Grand River just west of Forrer, facing Greenfield, not Oakman. I grew up around the block from here on Prevost and recognize many of the stores.
