The demolition of Armco/AK Steel Ashland Works in northeast Kentucky is progressing rapidly.






The demolition of Armco/AK Steel Ashland Works in northeast Kentucky is progressing rapidly with work ongoing at the former Basic Oxygen Furnace complex. In just a month, crews working six or seven days a week over three shifts have ripped apart about half of the inner-connected structure. Work is also progressing on ripping out the guts of the Amanda Blast Furnace before its eventual toppling later this year.
