Buckeye School
When I attended the University of Kentucky, I traveled the back roads of my state – a lot. On one of my excursions, I came across the abandoned Buckeye School. Back then, its lot was filled with relics of the past, namely automobiles. Jaguar, Jeep, Land Rover and Volkswagen carcasses lay scattered around the several acre lot. But I never went inside the actual school, and despite my vows to find the owner of the property – I graduated from school and moved away.
Now, nearly six years after I left, I decided to try my luck again en route to a wedding.

Tornado Destroys Tennessee State Penitentiary Overnight
A powerful storm overnight produced at least two tornados struck Nashville, Tennessee, killing at least 19 and destroying significant portions of the historic Tennessee State Penitentiary, among many other buildings in the region.

Forbidden City Tour: Charles Schroer
With again much thanks to Downtown Mansfield Inc. and Preservation Ohio, the public was allowed inside to view the former Charles Schroer Mortuary. What seemed nothing more than a rather generic building along North Diamond Street in Mansfield, Ohio was actually part of the large Schroer business that at its height, occupied half of the block from East Temple Court to East Fifth Street.

The historic Glencoe-Auburn Place and Hotel in the Mount Auburn neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio is being demolished after spending years in redevelopment limbo.
