The two coal-fired power plants, after not having been used since 1992, at the Indiana Army Ammunition Plant in Charlestown, Indiana were demolished at the cost of $1.1 million between 2011-12. It involved scrapping 335 tons of salvageable materials from the site and the removal of the 120,000 and 145,000 square-foot structures and their associated 180-foot smokestacks.
