The Rockville Bridge is a through and pony truss structure over Big Sandy Creek on Mt. Nebo Road in Preston County, West Virginia. The bridge consists of a five-panel pin-connected Pratt through truss and a four-panel pin-connected Pratt pony truss and was built in 1893 by the King Bridge Company of Cleveland, Ohio.
In recent times, before its closure, the Rockville Bridge saw minimal usage, with an average of only 10 vehicles crossing it daily. 1 While occasionally used by automobiles, it was more frequently traversed by all-terrain vehicles. However, in August 2020, the bridge was closed to all traffic following an inspection that uncovered significant structural deficiencies.
