The story of a forgotten America.

Fourco’s Neon Sign in Clarksburg, West Virginia

I’ve always been curious about this cool neon sign on the side of some concrete silos in Clarksburg, West Virginia.

I’ve always been curious about this cool neon sign on the side of some concrete silos in Clarksburg, West Virginia. I flew my UAV up on a foggy morning and captured two photos of the silos and sign which was for the Fourco Glass Company Rolland Plant.

At one point, the Clarksburg region was home to numerous glass companies because of the availability of cheap natural gas and raw materials. I think because of the nature of the fog, the UAV was acting up and I was constantly losing communication between the device and the controller, despite being very close to the unit. Not a place I’d like to lose it at!
