Richland Furnace, also referred to as Cincinnati Furnace, is situated in the Hanging Rock Iron Region in Vinton County, Ohio.







Richland Furnace, also referred to as Cincinnati Furnace, is situated in the Hanging Rock Iron Region in Vinton County, Ohio. It was established in 1854 by McClanberg and associates. 1 The furnace was under the ownership of the Cincinnati Furnace Company along with Westfall, Stewart, and Dungan, and managed by J.B. Royer. It boasted a 40-foot high stack and a 13-foot wide bosh. Operating on charcoal, the furnace’s hot blast system was driven by steam power.
